IV Cannula Manufacturere in India Lars Medicare
If you are a type of a person who is really very scared of inserting an
IV Cannula, let me tell you that you are definitely not the only one who is going
through this process. IV
Cannula is generally considered to be one of the most challenging processes
that all the nurses will have to actually learn. And though it is the most
common process today the nurses still have the difficulty of dealing with the
entire process.
One of the nurses pointed out and said that inserting an IV cannula is a
number game. You will have to insert dozens of them, before you actually get
the confidence and hit to the mark. No one ever likes to hurt their patients
and this is something that can actually make the nurses reluctant to at least
give a try. If you still have the trouble
of inserting the IV cannula then does not fear. Many nurses have come across
this stage before you and have used many kids of tips and tricks while
inserting the IV cannula.
Bringing in the warmth: If the arms of your patient have turned out to be
really very cold then let me tell you that you are not going to see any veins.
And if your patients arm are merely within the room temperature then let me
tell you that the chances of seeing and feeling the veins diminishes
drastically. You will have to warm the veins of your patient and the old school
nurses can tell you the best when it comes to this. You can take some choux or
some other water proof covering like the think bed pad and then have it immediately
placed under the arm of the patient. If you are lucky enough your hospital will
then provide you with supply of hot packs for such kind of a trick but warming
up with the wash clothes is something that is really very effective.
Tourniquet trouble: The actual trouble that begins while inserting an
IV cannula is with the IV insertion. You should always check for the veins with
the equipment’s being in place. So if you try and palpate the veins
without the tourniquet then you will not be able to see the veins that are
actually available to you. Having the tourniquet put makes they pop out at ease
and if it is too tight you will then be able to cut off the circulation and
there is no blood in your veins in order to make them puffy. In order to loosen
them and to make sure that the blood flows this will not pool for the puncture.
Position, Location and The other Tips: You will have to first think of the patient when
it comes to the insertion of the IV cannula.
Have the patients hand kept at the below level of their heart and then
ask them to make a strong fist. However when you are trying and making an
insertion ask them to relax their hand and arms in order to prevent rolling.
Not just this it is also important that you focus on the location where you are
trying and inserting the IV cannula. The wrist sites are something that are
highly prone to infiltration, pain, and the last but not the least positional
flowing of the iv solution. So try and select the ones that will land up giving
the best results and always start distal and work along with your way unless
and until there is a clinical reason for the larger vein.
